Anna Rubin
Anna Rubin, Ph.d, was born in 1946. She composes instrumental and computer-generated music, often combining amplified acoustic instruments with live electronics. Her work has been performed internationally and she is the recipient of fellowships from the Ohio Arts Council (2000), New York Foundations for the Arts (1988, 1994). She has also received commissions from the New York Council for the Arts, New American Radio, WNYC Radio, the Northern Ohio Youth Orchestra, the California EAR Unit, the Bowling Green State University Music at the Forefront Series, and such performers as Thomas Buckner, F. Gerard Errante and Isabelle Ganz. Her work is recorded on the Neuma, Sony and SEAMUS labels and she is published by Leisure Planet. She has tought at Oberlin College, Lafayette College, and presently at the University of Maryland/Baltimore County where she also directors an interdisciplinary arts program.
